Dear Parents,
The children have been
very busy this week learning all about the holiday of Sukkot!
We discussed the special
Mitzvah (commandment from the Torah) to sit in a Sukkah.
In addition, we learnt
about the Mitzvah of shaking and saying a special blessing on the "4
kinds"- a lulav (date palm
frond), an etrog (citron), at least three hadassim (myrtle
branches) and two aravot (willow branches)
To help us understand
some of the concepts of this holy day, we....
- The children made a welcome sign for the sukkah in
Hebrew.
- The children decorated :match it" cards to reinforce the topic of the 4 kinds that we shake on Sukkot.
- The children decorated their own hands on sukkah using
various materials.
We sang....a
hebrew song for Sukkotr called
1.
"Ba, Ba, Chag
Ha'sukkot Ba....Chag Sameach."
2.
"b'yom Rishon
Om'rim Shalom....B'chag Ha'sukot, Chag Sa'me'ach"
May you have a joyous
Sukkot!
