Dear Parents,

With Rosh Hashana eve just one day away, the first grade had the special opportunity to experience different aspects of the upcoming holiday during their daily work period.
The children got to.....
  • ...taste apples dipped in honey to symbolize a sweet new year
  • ...form tasty round raisin challot to symbolize a good year all "round"long
  • ...play a fun game to learn about the customs of the holiday
  • ...create Rosh Hashana cards for our friends to wish each other a sweet new year.
  • ...sample the symbolic holiday foods like pomegranate to symbolize a year filled with goods deeds and merits .

we learned many new songs in Hebrew about the holiday of Rosh Hashana such as:
"shana tova"
"Rosh Hashana Ba"
"Shana Tova Ima...Aba...Saba....Savta...."

May the upcoming year be one filled with sweetness and blessings for all!
